The Best Friends have been a mainstay in AEW ever since the company began, with Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor entering the tag team division as a popular duo. Over the course of the last three years, the tag team has developed into more of a faction, adding more members over time as the roster increases and their friendship group expands.

All the members in the Best Friends have something unique to offer, and they all have an element of quirkiness and fun, from curses to aliens to nonchalance, there are a range of personalities. Their in-ring quality also varies, with some being much better than others. Although he has seemingly joined the Blackpool Combat Club, Wheeler Yuta will still be included here, even though his association with The Best Friends is drawing to a close.
7 Danhausen
Notably during his time in ROH, Danhausen became a hugely popular character both on TV and online, with his presence largely felt on social media. When it comes to Danhausen, he is much more of a gimmick-based performer, relying on his commitment to his character and a lot of shenanigans to get him through matches, rather than putting on five-star clinics.
Danhausen is fine in the ring, but he has rarely shown anything too special when it comes to his wrestling ability, but he more than makes up for it with his personality. Some of the most over and successful wrestlers of all time often rely on their gimmicks to make them memorable, with emotion and character work being at their forefront of their performance, rather than incredible ring styles.
6 Kris Statlander
Kris Statlander is still very young within the wrestling business at just 26 years old, so she has a long way to go in terms of improvement and honing her craft. She is still a highly talented and had one of the best matches of Britt Baker’s reign as AEW Women’s World Champion.
Things aren’t entirely smooth all the time when it comes to Statlander, which is why she is not considered to be higher in terms of ranking within the Best Friends, but she isn’t bad by any means. She is a popular name on the roster, and once AEW gives more focus to their women’s division, Statlander can be a big name for the company for years to come.
5 Chuck Taylor
For a long time, Chuck Taylor has been a great comedy wrestler, and his spot in a tag team alongside Trent Beretta is something that is the perfect fit for him. Even though he is often overshadowed, Taylor is still a very solid in-ring worker who does all the basics to a good level, making him a sound and reliable performer.
Taylor is someone who rarely stands out, with not much flashiness to his offense, with his wrestling kept mostly simple. As a whole package, he has a lot of presence, likeability, and charm, which makes up for any detractions he may have. It is also key to remember some of the great matches he has had within the Best Friends,
4 Orange Cassidy
On the surface, Cassidy is a laid back, lazy performer who has the softest kicks in wrestling. However, when he is switched on, Cassidy can have one hell of a match, which has been proven on several occasions, notably against the likes of PAC, Kenny Omega, and Chris Jericho.

Cassidy is someone is gimmick-based, which at times can hide just how good of a wrestler he is. When his hands are taken out of his jean pockets, and when he shed his shades, he can steal the show. With the gimmick and persona that he has managed to create, Cassidy’s impactful style is something which feels even more impressive, which is a testament to the strong character work he has done over the years, both on the independent scene and in AEW.
3 Wheeler Yuta
Perhaps Wheeler Yuta would not have been in the discussion for being close to the best even just a few months back, simply due to his inexperience alone. However, in recent months AEW have tried to push him up the card, giving him more opportunities to work in higher profile matches, leading to him showcasing an incredible talent inside the ring.
Something that could be seen in his recent show-stealer with Jon Moxley was an ability to tell a great story, and for him to be the age he is, and to not only be fine-tuned in the ring but also having the ability to convey emotion outside of that, makes him one of the hottest young talents in the world. Fast forward a few years and he may be at the top of any list.
2 Rocky Romero
Though Rocky Romero isn’t the biggest of wrestlers, he does everything to a high standard, with a range of styles mixed into his offense, making him a well-tuned veteran at this point. Romero is a peripheral member of The Best Friends, associated due to his time in the Rapungi Vice tag team alongside Trent Beretta.
In his cameos on AEW programming, he can be relied on to have a good match, with sound grappling, striking, and high-flying ability, with versatility to both wrestle in a light-hearted and comedic way, but also switch to something more serious.
1 Trent Beretta
Beretta may be one of the more underrated workers in the entirety of AEW right now. Anytime he has a match, he brings a well-executed offense and could well be one of the most reliable names on the roster to give a good match.

He is well-rounded, brings several different styles, and can work to a high standard in both tag team and singles action. He is someone who only gets better over time, with years of experience under his belt at this point, and if AEW saw fit, he could be positioned for a strong singles run at some point.
